“Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero.” ~ Horace
Most of us are familiar with the famous “Seize the Day” beginning of this Latin quote. The rest of it translates as: “Trusting as little as possible to the future.” So what does that mean?
Some say it means: “Live it up today. Give little or no thought to tomorrow.”
Others say: “Live well today, mindful of tomorrow. Don’t leave the future to chance; take good action today.”
What do you say?
I say: As we wake to a new day that starts a new month, let’s savor this day with gratitude and joy. And, mindful of our dreams, let’s step toward our goals.
With courage and wisdom,
Charlene
