"I'm convinced we have each been endowed with a beautiful heart. We may not always see it. We may not even believe it. But it's a gift that came at birth, and every time we act selflessly, it grows a little." ~ Steve Goodier
I'm convinced too. Despite cruel actions that seem to be done by people with no beauty in their hearts, I choose to believe there is inherent beauty in every heart. I look for it. And very often I sense, glimpse, feel, and see evidence of it.
When I don't, my heart seems to say: "Take care to keep me open, light, and clear. Have compassion for that hearts, all hearts. Don't judge. You don't know their journey or history."
Perhaps the beauty in some hearts is covered with layers upon layers of woundedness, misguidedness, fear and hate, and other light-blocking things.
What is ours to do is to love and act kindly, selflessly. Besides growing our beauty, it will make the world a better place.
Truly,
Charlene
