"Inner beauty, too, needs occasionally to be told it is beautiful." ~ Robert Brault
Do you celebrate your victories and accomplishments? Sometimes I do. But quite often I have said, "When (something happens or a project is completed), I will reward myself." But then I postponed the reward and, as time passed, it was forgotten.
The last time that happened, I recognized that I was not valuing myself and my work enough and I promised myself that - next time - I would celebrate.
Next time has arrived. And to reward myself for birthing The Twelve Gifts from the Garden, I finally ordered the lovely tea mug I've had my eye on for several years. No kidding! Years. Each time I thought of purchasing it, I told myself we already have more than enough mugs and cups for coffee and tea drinking.
However, the beauty of this particular mug stirs the beauty and joy inside of me.
It doesn't have to be a big thing. It doesn't even have to be a thing. But in some way we deserve to be appreciated by ourselves.
I plan to sit in a cozy place and sip tea from my reward mug while I read what I wrote for The Twelve Gifts from the Garden and experience it as a reader rather than a writer.
In some way today, whether you feel you have accomplished something or not, whether or not you think you "deserve" it, acknowledge the beauty in you.
With love,
Charlene
