“Hope is not a resting place but a starting point - a cactus, not a cushion." ~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
I can't recalled a time when hope felt like a cactus.
But I can recall two times when I had cactus needles embedded in my skin.
And I do understand that in dark times when hope is low, when we reach within and pull it out, our lives don't immediately become cushion soft.
I'm inclined to see hope more like the flower that blossoms on a prickly cactus. Hope can do that.
Let the soft yellow cactus flowers remind us that good things, beautiful things, can grow from harshness and hurts.
May all be well in your life today. If things are harsh and desert-like, may positives outcomes grow and open like bright yellow flowers.
With love,
Charlene
