I came upon this little flower just outside my door yesterday. Light rain, just fallen, left delicate drops of freshness on each flower and leaf. It's vinca, or periwinkle. 

Everything in nature offers beauty, strength, hope, and more, such as life-guiding wisdom.

This flower is a symbol of new friendship, fidelity in long term relationships, and spiritual harmony.

Imagine if, every day, we approached our most significant relationships with fresh enthusiasm to better know this person, that person, every person we love. This parent. This child. This spouse. This sibling. This friend.

Imagine if, every day, we made a commitment to remain faithful to the long term relationship we have with our authentic selves and to remain real in the world. 

Imagine if, every day, we took a step toward greater harmony and peace. 

We may or may not seek this at the moment. But  some days we know this, we feel this, and yet other days we react more to the fear in the world, to frustration, to anger, even to hate and despair.

This is who we are. Human. We are learning, healing, growing. And in the heart of who we are, we are love, beauty, courage, compassion, hope...

The course of this world can change. The quality our daily lives can change. Why not lean more and more toward the best of what's in us, toward love and compassion?
