"Today's positive psychologists have found that appreciating beauty leads to greater joy, health, well-being and meaning in life." ~ Diane Dreher
Many sources say that beauty in all its forms has the power to heal us in body, mind, spirit, and relationship to others.
Consider this story:
"Two old friends were walking down the road one evening when they began to argue. As they went along, they shouted at one another as each tried to impose his view upon the other. Suddenly, one of them caught sight of the setting sun. He pointed it out to his friend. Immediately the men ceased their arguing. They stood side by side in silence, gazing in
wonder and awe at the beauty of the sunset. When the sun had slipped beneath the horizon, the two friends started on their way again. Only now, having forgotten what they had been arguing about, they walked together cheerfully and at peace with one another. This story reminds us that beauty has the power to heal." Today, let's often notice beauty in our midst and choose to appreciate beauty in any form that may stir us.
Select something that delights your senses. Smell a flower. Look at a painting or a beloved photo. Listen to soothing music or rousing sounds. Walk in nature. Play with a pet. Have a beauty treatment that relaxes or rejuvenates you. Do a "good deed." Beauty abounds within you and all around you.
Let inner wisdom guide your way to find what will best strengthen the healing beauty in you today.
Truly,
Charlene
