"To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone." ~ Reba McEntire
How are your bones?
My wishbone is fine. It's got plenty of wishes and dreams. My backbone is fit from lifting thoughts each day. For many years, my funny bone needed more use. But I've been stretching my perspective muscles to find the funny in just about everything.
Would you believe I found it even after being diagnosed with breast cancer and having a double mastectomy? The issues I've had with the implants have been a riot. Seriously. I mean, truly. They are
funny.
Of course, there's a wealth of potential for laughing, crying, and complaining in every ordeal.
Naturally, I've done all three. But mostly, I laugh now and try to make others laugh about it too.
In fact, my wishbone holds a dream of performing a comedy act sometime, somewhere about "reconstruction." Maybe I'll get the chance in your hometown.
For now, let's do our best to wish, hope, dream, be strong, and laugh with joy.
Every day,
Charlene
