“Peace brings with it so many positive emotions that it is worth aiming for in all circumstances." ~ Estella Eliot
And patience is a step on a path to peace. Do you have a way to reach patience?
Recently I had a lesson about this. Patience was my word for the day. But right from early morning, I struggled with impatience. After several episodes of feeling my belly, shoulders, and throat tightening, I remembered that we develop patience every time we strive to practice it when we feel impatient.
I laughed, just a little chuckle since I was still in a snappy state. But the small laugh loosened the tightness a bit. I decided to let impatience exist while I intended to let it dissipate. It worked. In a short time, my snappiness became happiness.
My wish for us today is peace. If you're feeling snappy, look for some humor. Aim for a laugh. Choose patience and head toward it. Let your irritation dissolve like an ice cube melting in a warm room. Breathe.
Let's choose patience and practice it as we move toward to peace.
Day by day,
Charlene
