Some people believe Earth is a living, conscious organism. Others doubt that a planet can be aware. Some think that Earth is sentient and caring. Some insist that Earth is a rock and scoff at scientific reasons to accept that Earth can be considered alive and aware in its own way.

Whatever we think about Earth being able to experience what is happening, since we're aware of what's happening, may we act wisely, with love and reverence for this wondrous sea-and-garden home upon which we depend.  

For all the world's children, let's help Earth to be a healthy place, with a future that supports life, especially human life.
