"You light up my life..." ~ Joe Brooks
Do you know this ballad?
Written by Joe Brooks as a love song, when Debbie Boone recorded "You Light Up My Life" in 1977, she sang the lyrics like a prayer.
Love for God. Love for one's spouse. Love for a new friend. Love for a child. Love. It lights up our life. It gives us "hope to carry on."
With love built into our very essence, we have the capacity to love family, friends, animals, nature, and all creation, which brings the circle of love back to its Source, the Creator.
Let's expand the reach of our love today. For, as another song goes, "What the world needs now is love sweet love."
In the northern hemisphere, the hours of darkness are increasing each day. Darkness seems to be increasing in the world in many other ways now too.
But light is also increasing. And you and I can add to the light. We can help brighten our homes, neighborhoods, and communities as well as our country and the world.
Along with love, let's expand the reach of our kindness and our demonstration of respect for all beings. Let's spread hope and increase light by living The Twelve Gifts.
With love, faith, and joy,
Charlene
