“We are here but for a second, but our impact ripples through time.” ~ Neetal Parekh
Might this be true?
When I arrived at our community pool yesterday morning, everything was still. With no breeze and no activity in the pool, the surface was like glass. Usually there are plenty of ripples made by water walkers, swimmers, and exercisers. I've rarely seen a body of water so motionless.
I was amazed to see how quickly ripples formed and spread by my very slow and gentle entry into the pool. A beautiful pattern traveled quickly in all directions. I watched as the little waves turned a bend and went into the shallow water of
the indoor pool. The ripples continued until they could go no further. They would have if they could. But, in fact, they did, by turning back onto themselves, creating a new pattern.
What if our every action and reaction is like that?
What if even the things we think of as small and inconsequential ripple on and on?
Whether or not that is the case, let's ripple love, kindness, and beauty into the world today. Why not?
For the greatest good,
Charlene
