"People are basically the same the world over. Everybody wants the same things - to be happy, to be healthy, to be at least reasonably prosperous, and to be secure. They want friends, peace of mind, good family relationships, and hope that tomorrow is going to be even better than today." ~ Zig Ziglar
We all have the same basic needs and wants. We're related in humanity in this way. We're also connected in humankind. Somewhere on humankind's family tree, we are joined.
Today, let's aim to feel this truth and appreciate it. Whether or not we sense it and embrace it, let's lean toward it.
May our leaning toward this truth lead us toward greater acceptance, respect, and reverence. Toward unity, peace, and compassion too. And joy!
With love,
Charlene
PS - Are you familiar with 23andMe? Have you done it? If you're not yet familiar with it, 23andMe is a means of exploring your DNA to learn about your ancestry and health traits. You can also see connections with distant relatives.
I did it and just got my results yesterday. I'm delighted to see connections with 1140 people who have participated and to learn things about my ancestry that I didn't know.
Because DNA shows traits that connect me beyond the Eastern European ancestry I knew, I feel enlarged and more connected with the whole world.
