“What I want is so simple I almost can't say it: elementary kindness.” ~ Barbara Kingsolver
Me too, Barbara.
And many, many more are with you, I'm sure.
I believe most of us want kindness. Peace, unity, and harmony too. We want joy and freedom, good health and opportunities. We want to be seen and heard. We want to be accepted as we are.
Kindness is so elemental. It's an elemental ideal. An elemental experience. It's a gift in our souls. In our hearts too.
Perhaps the need to give and receive kindness is in our blood and bones. It seems to me that we need to exchange kindness for health and well-being. For true success too.
In case you sometimes question the practicality of being kind, please know that kindness is powerful. Kindness contains love, empathy, courage, and strength. Kindness holds hope and faith. Kindness is full of beauty.
Don't let those who disparage kindness get to you, ever. Most likely they are the ones who most need kindness.
Without judging ourselves and others, let's be bravely kind, today and every day.
Always,
Charlene
