“If you're reading this...
Congratulations, you're alive.
If that's not something to smile about,
then I don't know what is.”
― Chad Sugg
We could leave it at that. The message is clear. No more words are needed.
But might a few add food for thought? Maybe nourishment for our souls too?
Sometimes our gratitude for being alive stirs much more than a smile. Sometimes it reaches deep and stirs zest, zeal, and fire in the belly purpose and passion. I wish many such moments for you.
But let's face it, there are times when smiles don't come easily. Sometimes quotes like this one have little impact on a heart that's hurting or numb. I am not at all minimizing smiles.
Wherever we are with our own thoughts and feelings today, let's pause now and then and consider that we are alive. We have suffered and survived. We are wondrous beings. And the rest of our lives starts right now. Let's also consider the thoughts and feelings of others.
For ourselves and toward others, let's smile. Big ones, small ones, natural ones, intentional ones - even forced smiles can begin to lift our spirits.
Our spirits. Let's take care of them today.
With love, gratitude for life, and smiles,
Charlene
