"I've learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom - how great is that?"
~ Soledad O'Brien
I have learned, again and again, that fear limits me and my vision.
I can't presume to know that this is true for all of us. But I suspect it is. Fear limits us in many ways.
When I have been afraid, not only has my vision been limited, but my health, my creativity, all my capacities for feeling joy, caring, loving, solving problems, being productive, having insights - you
name it - all were limited.
Let's intend to let out fears soften and melt away. You may wish to anchor this intention with an action ritual, such as the Ice Cube Melt I have mentioned several times. It's simple.
Remove an ice cube from your freezer. Let it rest on your opened palm. Notice the cold, then the burn of the cold, then other sensations you may have. Acknowledge the ice cube as representing your inner fearful feelings and how you are simply letting both be for a few
moments. Next, place the ice cube into a small cup or bowl. Leave it with the intention of letting the fear you are feeling melt away in its own time just as the ice will melt and be transformed into water. Later, notice the changes in the ice and in your feelings.*
Toward transforming fear into freedom by way of faith, let's hold these quotes today too:
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." ~ Heb 11:1
"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded." ~ Heb 10:35
"Do not be
anxious about anything, but in everything, with hope and joy and gratitude, present all your issues, dreams, and desires to God." ~ Phil 4:6
Wishing you peace and hope,
