"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart."
~ Carl Jung
And through our hearts and with our hearts, some say.
What if, instead of beginning
each day in an auto-pilot kind of way, we took the time to make our vision clear?
Not our eyesight. (Well, that too, if you require glasses to sharpen your eyesight - like I do, along with 75% of the world's adult population.)
But imagine if every morning, before getting out of bed, we had a way of entering our hearts and seeing from the heart's perspective.
How beautiful might the world appear to us? How grateful to be alive might we feel?
How loving? How hopeful? How determined to live the day well? How ready to be kind?
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly," said Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
I can recall seeing what I would call "clearly" and "rightly" when I've had "near death experiences."
Not out-of-body, seeing the tunnel of light experiences.
I mean when I was diagnosed with cancer, when my mom died, when my dad died, when I was at funeral masses, when I watched news of natural and human-caused disasters, every time my heart was broken open and I found myself completely "in love."
Know what I mean?
If we can see that way some of the time, surely we can see that way more of the time.
Let's aim to see
that way, at least to glimpse that way, today.
Through love,
Charlene
P.S. One way to enter the heart is to use a photo or bring to mind a child or animal that you love dearly. Let their innocence and the beauty of the relationship between you touch the pure loving essence in you.
