"Hope is like peace. It is not a gift from God. It is a gift only we can give one another."
~ Elie Wiesel
How are you responding when you read this quote?
Me: I agree. I disagree. I agree.
Hope is like peace. And, it is a gift we can give to one another.
Hope is a truly powerful gift we can give at this time. Can we give it first to ourselves when we are deeply shaken by the growing hate, discrimination, and threats of violence that we see? Can we offer hope to others?
We can. I know that we can. Will we? I pray that we do.
I'm realizing that I must not meet the hate I see with hate for the haters. (I
admit that I sometimes have.) And I must not feed the fear that seems to be a growing dis-ease among us.
Today, let's again turn toward hope. Let's reach for it, hold it and share it with others. Peace too.
Does today's message resonate with you?
I know that it's easier to write, read, and speak this way and sometimes it feels much harder to carry it through in
our actions.
Let's promise that, rather that react today, we will pause, ask for guidance, and respond with a sincere desire to be the hope, the peace, the respect, and the kindness that we want to see in the world.
With love and faith,
Charlene
PS- About the middle sentence in today's
quote...
I believe that hope and peace are gifts from the Creator too. And, what we do with the gifts, capacities, powers, and talents that are within us is a gift to our Maker. What do you believe?

HOPE: Through each passage and season may you trust in the goodness of life.
