“There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning."
~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
A new school year begins.
Yesterday I told my grandchildren that I would appreciate hearing about one new thing they learn each day. Not only am I learning things about animals that, until now I didn't even know existed, I am learning a lot about life, by being "Nana" to first-graders Alexis and Anthony.
I am now recalling my mother, who, during
the last weeks of her life, prayed each day, "What would you have me learn today, God?" She seemed to learn plenty.
Let's remember that we are all students, always students. We are meant to learn everyday, not just facts about the outer world, but about ourselves, one another, and the inner world.
May we open to beautiful lessons and ah-has
today.
Ready?
With joy,
Charlene
