“We are born believing. A man bears beliefs as a tree bears apples."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
We are all born with faith. Gifted with faith, stories go, among them: The Twelve
Gifts of Birth.
And it's true.
Well before speaking or understanding language, we have the capacity to believe. Some say we are already forming beliefs in infancy, as newborns.
But not all beliefs are true. In fact, we all have some conscious and unconscious beliefs that are limiting us. Some are outright
false.
How are your beliefs serving you? I'm not asking about beliefs related to religion, but those about life in general. About the world, about relationships, about money, about you...your worth, talent, beauty, abilities...
Let's consider two more quotes:
"Beliefs
have the power to create and the power to destroy. Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally save their lives," says Tony Robbins.
"If you develop the absolute sense of certainty that powerful beliefs provide, then you can get yourself to accomplish virtually anything, including
those things that other people are certain are impossible," said William Lyon Phelps.
Faith; it's powerful. May we use it wisely and well.
Always with love and kindness too,
Charlene
