“Ask yourself: Have you been kind today? Make kindness your daily modus operandi and change your world."
~ Annie Lennox
Do you agree that "It is
sometimes difficult to view compassion and loving kindness as the strengths they are" as Sharon Salzberg has acknowledged?
Some people actually believe they are weaknesses.
But for sure kindness is a strength.
Consider how kindness is like water and harshness is like rock. Rock may seem stronger because it is hard. But water's seemingly soft nature allows it to move aside and let a rock thrown
into it to pass through it without harm. On the other hand, the flow of water wears down rock with such power that it creates grand canyons.
Kindness is wise, too.
"Kindness and faithfulness keep a king safe, through
kindness his throne is made secure" said King Solomon.
"Kindness is wisdom" said Philip James Bailey
Tonight, every night, let's ask ourselves: Have I been kind today? as we make kindness our "daily modus operandi."
Let's change our world and sleep peacefully.
Through the power
of kindness,
Charlene

COMPASSION: May you be gentle with yourself and others. May you forgive those who hurt you and yourself when you make mistakes.
