“The essence of all art is to have pleasure in giving pleasure."
~ Dale Carnegie
Let's aim to be great artists today.
If you have ever thought or said, "I am not an artist" or "I have no artistic ability," please think again.
Art here refers to a way of being in every kind of human activity not only to artistic expressions through painting, music, film making, writing, singing, etc.*
Every one
of us has the ability to do everything we do with a pure intention of giving joy to others as we aim to do our best. When we do this with a spirit of loving service, we reach the level of art.
Whether it is caring for an elder, listening to a friend, fixing a motor, mopping a floor, teaching a class, filing reports, giving a speech, driving a car pool, scheduling appointments, waiting on tables, building a bridge, providing customer service, preparing a
meal...let's aim to do all that we do with love.
One consequence of our laboring with love will be the stirring of joy.
Paraphrasing another Dale Carnegie quote:
May the winds of enthusiasm sweep through us, lifting us to make the most of today. Let's shake ourselves awake.
And act with love,
Charlene
* Many of you, probably all, have ability in one or more of the areas that are typically considered "art." So, dance, sing, paint, write, sculpt, photograph, design...express with love the "art" you love to do. Honor all the interests and abilities that make up your unique gift
of talent.

JOY: May it keep your heart open and filled with light.

Gifts of Birth)
