“The working out of cause and effect is eternal. You are part of this rising and falling that never ends, and only by riding the wave can you ensure that the waves don’t drown you."
~ Deepak
Chopra
How might we benefit from this quote?
What does it mean?
How do we ride the wave?
When I came upon this quote yesterday I thought of a video I had watched the previous
day.
In that video, my friend Rev. Krya reminds us that we can live at the level of cause or effect. In every moment we get to choose. Cause or effect? Cause or effect?
For example, we can choose to be in panic, to be frustrated, to react with fear as we watch things that are
disturbing the peace. This would be placing ourselves in "effect."
Or, we can choose to create peace, however we can, as best we can. This would be placing ourselves in "cause." In fact, even if we simply remain at peace within ourselves, we are in the position of cause.
There is much more power and potential in cause than in effect.
This is riding the wave instead of being tumbled in it, maybe drowning in it.
In every moment, we can be causative.
However small our efforts might seem, they matter. Whenever we hold hope, speak positively, build bridges, foster goodwill, use our inner gifts,
we are "causing."
This is one way of "riding the wave."
Toward peace...with love,
Charlene
