"Do not neglect the gift that is in you."
~ 1 Timothy 4:14
What usually comes to mind when
we hear this passage is: Do not neglect the talent that is in you. And, for sure we don't want to do that.
But is seems to me that it is critically important for each of us to cultivate a consciousness of using all our gifts and to neglect none of them.
I've come to
appreciate the value of beginning each day by tuning in - asking and praying - for the knowing of: What gift will best serve my present need? What gift will best restore my balance? What gift will best empower me, nurture me, inspire me now?
When I did this yesterday morning, I heard Strength. When I asked for more information, I felt guided to walk more, stand taller, stretch my spine, do shoulder curls, lift my arms,
and use the incentive spirometer I got at the hospital to exercise my lungs.
Clearly, much of the guidance was about building more physical strength. But I also felt nudged to write a new Living Vision for Healing, which would strengthen my inner resolve and confidence.
Without any further neglect or delay, may we pay attention to the awesome Presence and presents within us.
Ask: What gift will best serve me now?
Listening with faith,
Charlene
