TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way."
                                        ~ Wayne Dyer

This quote about dancing reminds me of a time when Frank and I were dancing and I was trying to move us from the center of the floor to a corner. "Do you mind if I lead?" Frank asked. In that moment, I had a flash of deeper understanding.

For months I had been pushing for a book project to go a certain way. And I had been led, reluctantly, to seeing that the art should be different had what I had been visualizing.

When I had the ah-ha on

the literal dance floor that night, I understood that, in order to accomplish goals and make dreams come true, we have to be on the dance floor, taking steps, true.

It is also true that, for the best results, we need to be flexible and let God lead the way.

Of course, it is also wise and healthy to enjoy every step, every dance, every day.

May we appreciate the music too.

Yes to joy,

Charlene
