"God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume.”
~ Vance Havner
This is one of of my favorite quotes.
I've used it
in the past
and will perhaps repeat it in the future.
Let's consider it right now
as we reflect today on the value and potential
of being "broken."
Like spring soil prepared for a summer crop,
in all the places where we've been broken,
may we be receptive to fresh seeds
and to growth.
May the brokenness in us,
in all humanity,
bring us to greater compassion, wisdom, and loving.
With
faith,
Charlene
