TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"To me, photography is an art of observation...I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."

                                ~ Elliott Erwitt

Hope is like that. It has everything to do with how we see things. Practicing it can be considered a form of art too.

Let's dabble in the art of hope today, in a playful way.

When we catch ourselves making a negative judgment about something, let's think like photographers and choose to see from various vantage points.

Move a little to the right, then a little to the left, so to speak. Zoom in; zoom out. Imagine climbing rungs and looking down from a tall ladder or seeing the situation from a floating hot air balloon.

The point of this imaginative moving about is
to become more aware of how we are judging, to remember there are many ways to perceive, to be willing to change our thinking,
and to make room for seeing differently...
with hope.

Faith too,
Charlene
