TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"Hope is the pillar that holds up the world. Hope is the dream of a waking man."

                             ~  Pliny the Elder

For thousands of years, probably since the beginning of humanity, hope has been recognized as a valuable thing

However it may have been described and labeled throughout the ages - a power, a capacity, a virtue, a gift, a "thing with feathers that perches in the soul" - hope has been regarded as a valuable thing to experience, to express, and to use, especially when facing difficult present conditions and for future imaginings.

As waking beings, may we cultivate and use this natural gift within us, especially when we see or hear signs of despair.

As waking beings, may we trust in the deep good that is unfolding now, even in things that may appear troubling on the surface.

With hope - and faith - let's aim to experience and express hope today. Everything we say and do matters.

Truly,
Charlene
