"...While I dance, I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. THAT is why I dance!"
~ Hans Bos
Does this ring true for
you?
For many years I danced every day. I didn't need to go to "a dance," I just turned on dance music and danced through my teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s... I even danced as best I could during the year I faced cancer.
I stopped my dancing habit somewhere in this 60s decade. I don't know why. Perhaps it's time to start again. For the joy of it. The health of
it.
I plan to dance today, carefully, as best I can with a hurt Achilles tendon. It might be mostly swaying. But I plan to get lost in the moving to the music long enough to experience the wholeness, the sense of being fully present in my body. No judging. Surely no hating. Just
joy.
If for some reason you can't dance or if dancing doesn't do this for you, what might you do today that will lead you to feeling joyful and whole?
I hope you dance,
Charlene
