TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it."

                                    ~ Edward Bok

By trade, Edward Bok was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and editor of Ladies' Home Journal from 1889-1919. In character and spirit, he was a man who heard the words above from his grandmother, took them to heart, lived by them, and repeated them to others.

A dreamer too, he is responsible for Bok Tower and Gardens, a place where throngs of people go to relax and be renewed by beauty.

May we reflect on the guiding words from Edward Bok's grandmother, allow them to strengthen our dreams to make the world a better place, and encourage the little ones in our lives in this direction:

Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.

With love and hope for the future,
Charlene

PS - My husband and I visited Bok Tower for the first time yesterday. A National Landmark, dedicated by Calvin Coolidge in 1929, Bok is a 205-foot neo-Gothic carillon tower on 50 acres of lush gardens on one of the highest points in central Florida. I was deeply inspired there. Wishing you deeply-renewing beauty too.

BEAUTY. May your deeds reflect its depth.
