"Before eating, always take time to thank the food."
~ Arapaho
This Native American proverb invites us to stretch, from eating without pausing to be grateful, to thanking the food itself as well as The Great Giver.
There is a Joan Borysenko quote that encourages pausing to think about,
with gratitude,
all those who grew, harvested,
transported, sold,
purchased, prepared...
basically to thank all who handled the food we are about to eat in any way.
When done sincerely, this feels wonderful.
Today, each in our own way,
may we nurture our souls with gratitude
as we nourish our bodies with food,
remember how we are all connected,
in and from one Creator.
Toward reverence and harmony,
Charlene
