"Great Spirit, thank you for the new day and for helping me to remember You as I come and go, playing my role in the drama that You have created for the growth of my soul."
~ Joan Borysenko
When I first came upon this quote in Pocketful of Miracles, I was inspired to start praying "Thank you for blessing all my comings and goings" every morning and each time I left the house.
A few weeks after beginning this practice, while speeding along in a middle lane on I-10 in Phoenix one morning, I heard in my being Move over to the far right
lane NOW! Without hesitation I followed that inner directive.
Moments later my front right tire blew out. Being in the far right lane, I was able to pull off the road just before three huge semi trucks rumbled by across all lanes. My little car, safe on the shoulder, shook in their wake. I trembled with gratitude for the protection and guidance.
Eighteen years later, still inspired by Joan Borysenko's quote and the Jewish practice of placing
a mezuzah on doorways as a reminder of God's presence, I continue my practice.
Today, I pray: (Join me?)
May all our comings and goings be blessed. May we be guided in all our roles and in the growth of our souls.
And may we listen to the voice within.
For greater love, wisdom, and peace,
Charlene
