"Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?" ~ Herbert J. Taylor
I've quoted this Rotarian "Four Way Test" before. But it's a powerful touchstone that's worth repeating.
Imagine how we - and all that we touched - would be affected if we used this gold standard before all communications and actions?
For Herbert J. Taylor it turned around his failing
company, for one thing.
In the early 1930's, after searching through many books for the right words to inspire his employees and lift his troubled company to excellence, Mr. Taylor turned to prayer. The answer came in the form of the 24-word "Four Way Test" which was adopted by Rotary in the 40s.
May we live by it today.
With love and
reverence,
Charlene
