"If you truly get in touch with a piece of carrot, you get in touch with the soil, the rain, the sunshine. You get in touch with Mother Earth and eating in such a way, you feel in touch with true life, your roots, and that is meditation. If we chew every morsel of our
food in that way we become grateful and when you are grateful, you are happy." ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Yesterday I watched an episode of Oprah's Super Soul Sunday in which her guest was Thich Nhat Hanh.
The famous monk
and peace activist demonstrated, with walking and with drinking a cup of tea, how any activity can be done in a way which stirs joy.
Let's aim to slow down today. Let's be more present than we usually are.
Consider doing something consciously, mindfully. It could be chewing a carrot. Or showering. Or taking out the trash.
Today and every day, may we grow in gratitude and joy.
Peace too, Charlene
