"If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading." ~ Lao
Tzu
Do you like where your heading? If so, keep moving straight and forward.
But are any of us exactly on course? I don't know about you, but I'm always making adjustments. Sometimes little ones. Sometimes big ones.
This quote reminds me of sailing lessons I took many years ago during a family summer vacation on Long Beach Island in New Jersey.
Although I didn't learn enough
to make me a sailor, what I learned about "tacking" and "coming about" has stayed with me because it applies to life.
Like a sailboat, we are affected by the winds - the winds of challenge and change. And like a sailor, we get to our intended destination by zigging and zagging adjustments.
We are never exactly on course. Never perfect.
Applying this lesson to life can help us to be compassionate with ourselves and others.
So today, may
we be gentle, caring, loving and forgiving. Willing to change and grow too.
For the best and the highest good,
Charlene
