My dad used to say these things too.
Is there something you dreamed of doing as a child but never did and you now think that it's too late to even try? I suspect there are several such things for most of us.
Until recently, I thought it was too late for me to learn how to play tennis. But here I am doing that very thing along with other
"seniors" at our "active adult" community where tennis lessons are offered, free.
This is a simple example but an example nonetheless that so much is possible for us to learn, experience, and accomplish all the days of our lives.
In Touchstones: Stories for Living The Twelve Gifts there is an example of this in the story titled "Bucket List," which is about a
cancer survivor named Kay. Not only did Kay beat pancreatic cancer, but she found ways to do all the things she had dreamed of doing that were still important to her, such as learning sign language and hiking in and out of the Grand Canyon. And while she was not able to actually join the Peace Corps, she found a way of being of service in a foreign country, which fulfilled the essence of her dream.
What dream might you renew and nurture today, beginning in your imagination? May wisdom guide your way, all the way.
