~ Many people
I don't know who said this first. But many people repeat it and use it in speeches and writings
of all kinds.
When I first heard "Be an actor, not a reactor" many years ago, I was in church. The saying really got my attention. I wanted to
always remember it and live it. Of course I don't, not all the time. I think we all first automatically react with feelings in our bodies and emotions.
But then we have a choice. I'm thinking especially about situations like the shooting in Charleston and all the hatred and violence we see.
Instead of reacting by hating back all the things that disturb us deeply, may we bring healing love into the world. May we build peace. May we be actors, acting consciously,
deliberately, using our gifts and talents.
We have the power to strengthen the body of humanity's immune system by each building love, compassion, hope, reverence, beauty - all the great gifts within us - and bringing them into the world in some way that is ours to do.
Peace to all,
Charlene
