Of course we prefer to be in the flow of love and opened to joy, but let's not judge the uncomfortable emotional experiences as bad and try to numb them. Every hurt can lead us to greater love, compassion, courage, strength, and wisdom even in the midst of pain and uncertainty.  

Rilke also says" Perhaps everything terrible is in its deepest being something helpless that wants help from us." 

For everything that seems "terrible" in our own lives and in the world today, let's apply the healing power of love and ask wisdom to show us how we can help.
