"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle."

~ Plato or Philo of Alexandria

To be human, to be here, includes facing many challenges...being wounded...experiencing hurt...in need of healing.

May this quote and truth remind us to to treat everyone we meet today, beginning with ourselves, with loving compassion.

Thank you,

Charlene

PS - Did you catch a misuse of a word in yesterday's touchstone? Instead of imminent...meaning: someone's death could be very soon...I used immanent. Although immanent was not the correct word-it can mean inherent or throughout the universe-death is that too! Another reminder that life is precious and will surely come to an end. May we live well today and treat one another with love and kindness, for these reasons and for no reason.

PPS - It is not known for sure who first said the quote above. Besides Plato and Philo, it is attributed to several modern philosophers. Just a bit of trivia.

COMPASSION: May you be gentle with yourself and others. May you forgive those who hurt you and yourself when you make mistakes. (from The Twelve Gifts of Birth)
