“There is nothing in
the world
so much like prayer as music is.”
– William P. Merrill
Dear Friends,
Let's pray, in our own way, perhaps
with music, and maybe in song, as the quote above and my little poem suggest.
I like to rhyme. Perhaps, for me, it's a way to foster and experience harmony. But sincerity can seem missing. My simple little poem may seem trite, even though I am writing from my heart.
Besides suggesting we sing, my touchstone for today is a reminder to stay positive, as best we can.
Let's be especially mindful of our
attitudes now, about everything. When we think, sing, pray, and talk about challenges or conditions of any kind, let's focus on the good that we seek, see it happening, and give thanks. Let's avoid dwelling on what we are against. Let's refrain from fostering fear and hate. Instead, let's focus on things like respect and reason, balance and well-being.
I'm praying for healed hurts, repaired harms, and restored harmony and unity in our country and around the world. I'm praying for peace within us, between us, and among us all.
With love.
