Yes.
Let's choose hope.
Hope over despair.
Love over hate.
Kindness over coldness.
“The world needs something more from us now,
and we need something
more noble
from ourselves as well.”
~ Stephen Dinan
What does the world need?
Albert Einstein offered clues. “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them,” he asserted. We would be short-sighted to ignore that truth and dangerously foolish to ignore what he went on to say: “We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive.”
We do need a new way of thinking—and of being.
“What can I do? I’m
just one person,” say 200 million people. Each of us holds far more power than we realize, and our collective power is enormous. *
Consider what Elisabeth Kubler-Ross said about this: There is within each one of us a potential for goodness beyond our imagining: for giving which seeks no reward; for listening without judgment; for loving unconditionally.
What do you
think?
If you are feeling low, doubting this is so, as Hafiz said, "I wish I could show you the astonishing light of your own being."
Your beauty, too.
Your strength and courage.
Your power...
With love and hope,
Charlene
"THE ELEVENTH GIFT IS LOVE.
It will grow each time you give it away.
THE FIFTH GIFT IS HOPE.
Through each passage and
season
may you trust the goodness of life."
from The Twelve Gifts of Birth
* Excerpts from my forthcoming book. FEED THE GOOD WOLF is intended to remind us of our inherent goodness while we explore the resources within us and discover deeper levels of strength, courage, compassion, and hope to
guide and help us through these times, and live wisely and well in all times.
