"Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked,
in which you can walk with love and reverence."
-Henry David Thoreau
Dear Friends,
I chose this photo because I want to share my garden with you, and I selected this quote because I want to focus on love and reverence.
When I watered earlier today, I observed something wondrous and meaningful in the ginger plant leaves.
It's been so hot and dry, it took giving the ginger roots an abundant amount of water to help the leaves uncurl and spread open. It was fascinating to see how the lower leaves,
those closest to their roots and to the available water, were the first to open. By watching all the leaves, I could almost see and feel the water being drawn upward through the whole plant.
It led me to think about how much we need to keep ourselves hydrated, with not only water, but with love and reverence. Kindness and hope too. Like leaves curling, closing, and wilting without water, our hearts close when we thirst for all the aspects of love and goodness.
Let's be
sure to "feed and water" The Good Wolf within us, today and everyday.
With love and reverence,
Charlene
