"You must not lose faith in humanity.
Humanity is an ocean;
if a few drops of the ocean are dirty,
the ocean does not become dirty."
-Mahatma Gandhi
We must not lose faith in humanity,
in goodness, in ourselves, in love, in freedom, in hope and healing...we must not lose faith in Faith.
It is critically important that we remain positive. What helps you to do that? Do you have a touchstone?
My strongest touchstone for this principle is something I realized when I was diagnosed with advanced lymphoma in 2000 and told there was no cure. Besides learning that at least one person has achieved a cure for every kind of cancer, I realized that even if billions of the cells in my lymphatic system, bone
marrow, neck, and abdomen were malignant, trillions upon trillions of cells were healthy, like the whole ocean.
Besides focusing on the positive, I prefer to think of malignant cells and people who do terribly malignant things as misguided, confused and actually
weak.
Focusing on them weakens us. Hate. Fear. Resentment. Blame. Fault Finding...they all weakens us.
Let's stay strong .
With love, wisdom, and faith,
Charlene
