I have never - at least not yet - met Lisa in person. She is a friend of a friend, and a woman I worked with in a minor way years ago. And yet, during the few interactions we had, her goodness touched my life in a large, lasting way
and I value the connection we have.
Today's quote was the mission statement of her business at that time. When I came across it yesterday, I felt soothed, uplifted, and encouraged.
Lisa's words remind me how I want to be show up, how I want to be each day, no matter what challenges I face in my own life and what we face in our country and the world.
No matter how high or low we aim, we will sometimes - maybe often - miss the mark and fall short, even fall down. Maybe flat on our face too. Literally and figuratively, I've done that a few times.
But so what. We pick ourselves up, stand tall, and keep our hearts opened to learning and loving, to seeing beauty and being beauty.
Every day we can touch lives in positive ways that may linger forever.
Let's aim high and embody the change we want to see, keeping joy, hope, and wonder alive.
