"When a train goes through a tunnel
and it gets dark,
you don't throw away the ticket and jump off.
You sit still and trust the engineer."
~ Corrie Ten Boom
When we are in a time and place of darkness, one thing we can do is hold faith.
If faith seems small and weak, we can hold a tiny seed, literally.
The seed can be mustard, dill, or sesame. Any seed from our kitchen herb and spice rack or from a packet of flower seeds can symbolize the diminished faith we sometimes feel when we're afraid as well as the amount of faith that can move a mountain.
While holding a seed, we can recall a time that was dark and uncertain - like being in a tunnel - and we made it through.
There are many tunnels along life's journey. We all travel through some. And we come out and continue on.
Wherever we are on our journey, let's give thanks for the strength, the courage, the wisdom, and all that we need for our travels.
With love,
Charlene
