There are so many ways to use courage every day, in everyday living.
We can use courage to be ourselves,
to be real, to be kind, to take
steps
toward our dreams,
to speak our truth,
to stick up for what's right,
to listen to others,
to admit when we don't know something
and when we've made a mistake,
and to say, "I'm sorry" as well as "I forgive
you"
and "I love you."
Let's, of course, call upon courage when we face losses, changes, and challenges, especially when we feel overwhelmingly discouraged and disheartened.
Our touchstone quote today is about such times. I believe we all
have such times, sometimes. The quote is from the nature-inspired book I wrote little by little, over many years, during stays on the sanctuary island of Sanibel.
"If you value
something or someone,
even if all seems lost or nearly dead,
don't give up.
Not on health, dreams, people, or principles.
Hold hope, call upon strength,
use courage and compassion,
and apply love with faith.
And never say 'never.'

THE THIRD GIFT IS
COURAGE.
May you speak and act with confidence
and use courage to follow your own path.
