“Nature does not hurry,
yet everything is accomplished."
- Lao Tzu
I chose this quote - and this topic - because an event in our garden demonstrated a lesson about trusting in the timing of things arriving and unfolding in our lives.
The lesson is an important one because too often we stress over not yet having an answer to an important question, not yet having clear guidance and direction, not yet having something we want, not yet reaching a goal, not yet having a dream realized, and many more possible and impatient "not yets."
The garden event is a silk floss tree "coming of age" and finally producing
delicate, hibiscus-like pink flowers - which are a stark contrast against the sharp, thorny bark of this tree.
We often wondered when flowers would appear. And they did while we were away from home. Seeing them when we returned was a delightful surprise.
The take-away for me is encouragement from nature to trust in the timing of good things coming.
I am also reminded of this Helen Keller quote; "Be happy with what you have while working for what you want."
Let's trust.
With faith,
Charlene
