"Thank you to all for your prayers and good wishes.
It gave me the strength to persevere
and warmed my heart."
-Steven Cojocaru
May we strengthen one another and warm many hearts by expressing sincere,
caring, and authentic good wishes.
We can spread kindness, love, and hope through good wishes. We can foster healing and peace too.
May you recognize your own gifts and help others to see theirs!
With love,
Charlene
PS - Sharing an Idea (optional read)
I've been busy preparing for our Summit Greens Community Arts and Crafts Show tomorrow. I'm sharing this information because it's something I want to share an idea you may wish to imitate.
For this show, I have filled decorative boxes, glass jars, and organza party favor bags with "good wishes." I got the idea a few years ago when my husband and I were invited to a birthday party. When I asked the hostess, "What can I bring?" thinking an
hors d'oeuvre. She said, "Please just bring good wishes."
Immediately, a light bulb clicked on. I got the idea to literally bring "good wishes" - a whole bag or box of them. I ended up using a little bucket, which I filled with good wishes, encouraging quotes, and
some funny messages.
I have made many for various occasions since that first one. I also carry a zip-top baggie filled with them in my purse to offer them to "strangers" when an opportunity presents itself.
I type the messages, print them on the plain side of decorative papers, then cut them into strips, fold them, and seal them with gold stickers. They are like fortune cookies
but with no cookie. In fact, one time I fashioned them into the fortune cookie shape, which was darling but a lot more work.
For this show, I've got an all-occasion/anytime version and Christmas and Hanukkah varieties.
A few sample messages are:
On the day you were born, the sun shined
brighter.
Do you know how amazing you are?
This day holds something special.
Expect to see it and you will.
"You are the only
you...You are the best you! - Leo Buscaglia
“Treasure this day, and treasure yourself.
Truly, neither will ever happen again." - Ray Bradbury
“Promise me you'll always remember: You're
braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” - A.A. Milne
“The next time you feel frightened and fragile, stand very still. If you do, you might feel the tip of an angel's wing brush against your shoulder." - Sarah Ban Breathnach
It's a way to connect in a positive, fun, and rewarding way with people. It's a way to spread kindness and good
will.
That's it. Feel free to comment and to ask questions. If you do try this, please let me know how it goes. Thanks!
