"Joy is not in things; it is in
us."
- Richard Wagner
It seems to me that, now and then, joy is in the air, too.
On such days, the air seems to hold well-being and a promise of good things to come. People smile more than usual. Many little courtesies take place.
Can you recall such a day?
Most often it happens on a balmy day.
I've also felt it happen on a day during a holiday season - like this one - when, for a time, the level of our communal stress drops like a sea at low tide, and our spirits rise, like a high tide.
This leads me to think. Joy is in us. And,
like love, the joy in us can ripple out from us.
So, maybe, when the air seems filled with joy, it's because masses of us are filled with gratitude so abundant that it causes an overflowing and outpouring of joy. And joyful energy fills the air!
Whether or not you have felt as if joy was
literally in the air, and whether or not you think my theory has value, please consider experimenting with it.
Throughout this day and throughout this season, let's notice things we deeply appreciate and let our sincere
gratitude grow into joy, as it naturally does from gratitude.
The more gratitude we feel and express, the more our joy will rise.
Let's aim to fill our hearts and homes to overflowing joy.
Together, many of us, we can fill the air with joy.
Let's fill it with hope, love, and peace too.
Believing,
Charlene
