Sometimes we get too grown up for our own good and too mature and put together for the health and well-being of our most important relationships.
Today, let's be - not childish - but childlike. Let's be playful, open to discoveries, warm, loving, and fun.
Let's take the best of our mature understandings and leave behind resistances to being silly and fears of looking foolish. Fear of being mushy too.
Most of all, let's nurture the love in our loving relationships with kindness, courtesy, thoughtfulness, and respect.
Let's give our full attention in conversations and often show what we appreciate in our loved ones.
One valuable tool my husband and I learned long ago was to write or say at the end of the day, "Your most endearing quality today was...(and name one thing).
Studies show that in healthy, happy families there are many kind, courteous, and appreciative expressions between and among everyone. Whereas, in hurting families there are many more harsh statements, sarcasms, and criticisms.
It's not too late to replace meanness, even if it has become routine, with kindness and healthy
humor.
Let's nurture and grow love.
Today and every day,
Charlene
