"Miracles happen every day."
- Jon Bon Jovi
Wonders are all around us. They are within us too. In fact, we are surrounded and filled with hundreds of millions of awesome happenings in every moment of every day.
I believe this. Do you?
I believe there's immeasurable and ungraspable beauty - and order - on the grand scheme of everything that exists as well as in the tiniest bits of creation. There's wisdom, too, in the cohesive oneness of it all and in every speck of matter. And in all matter and every manner of things, there is love. And grace.
I'm sending this second touchstone to you today partly because I want to correct two errors in what was emailed at 5 a.m. But mostly, I want to share what may seem to you as a small, inconsequential thing, but to me is valuable healing and growth. And it feels like a miracle, a small yet wondrous miracle that holds love and grace.
For many years in the past, when I discovered that I had made a mistake, I felt sick to my stomach. Literally.
But this morning, when I saw two mistakes, I felt only a mild ripple of "Oh darn" about them, followed by a great wave of gratitude.
Whatever issues you may be facing at this time in your life, please keep in mind and hold in your heart a trust that healings, growth, and great things are happening within you. Wondrous things. Miracles.
Now here is the message I sent at 5 a.m., with the two errors corrected. (If you happen to see more, let me know, so I can laugh and love
life with you!).
MIRACLES ALL ALL AROUND US I wrote, instead of MIRACLES ARE ALL AROUND US. You'll see the second mistake in the fourth paragraph.
And we are aware of very few of (the miracles). And, rather than give those few much thought and appreciation, we usually take them for granted.
Today, let's become more aware and appreciative of the wonders around us, beginning with our connection with trees. Consider Munia Khan's perspective:
"Trees exhale for us
so that we can inhale them to stay alive.
Let's us love trees with every breath we take... "
"How often do we remember and appreciate this fine breathing relationship we have with trees and all plants?" I wrote in The Twelve Gifts from the Garden. "It's a miraculous symbiosis. We literally
couldn't live with plants." We literally can't live without plants!
Let's become better at perceiving the hundreds of millions of wonders and miracles that are all around us and within every one of our relationships.
Let's accept and love ourselves and others too!
With gratitude and reverence,
Charlene
THE NINTH GIFT IS REVERENCE
May you appreciate the wonder that you are
and the miracle of all creation.
